Kennedy Stewart ( NDP – BC )

( Kennedy is actually my own MP ( Burnaby south ) and to be fear he and his office supported my paper petition from day one. But for some reason supporting a paper petition is ok, but an online petition, not so much.

My e_petition was ready at the parliament site waiting for Kennedy support for 2 weeks and he never supported. I gave him the perfect excuse when I decided to keep on looking for another MP because as you know, if you consider that supporting me with what I need is not your job, then is not ).

25/2/2018

Thank you Donalda.

Our minister of Immigration haven’t reply as today to my email. It is amazing how our elected representatives select what should or should not happen in our country, what to put their attention and what to denied it a chance, ignoring our requests and our more urgent and important problems.

I will ask next Trudeau why Ahmed won’t answer to my request, before start looking for support from the Conservative side. If you and Kennedy can help to get an answer or a position on this matter from Ahmed that will be great.  Please notice that I will start soon advertising my website on public spaces as well. It is just to find support to bring attention to this issue and it could include related sites from US as well. I have meet few community representatives that have expressed their support, but I think is time to give a chance to everybody interested on expressing their support or not against the way our family is discriminated at our borders and at our embassies.

Thanks for your sincere wishes!

Hi Donalda. Great 2018!

I just want to let you know that I have finally create a website to support my petition and to find public support for it. I am now contacting immigrants and sharing my site with others website that could be interested.

You can find it here

https://online-petition.blog/

Please notice that once I have some support I will bring my e_petition to Kennedy’s attention one more time. My last email was sent to our Minister of Immigration, Ahmed and as now I am waiting for his answer. Elizabeth declined to support my petition and I am now letting her know what disappointed was that since I always vote green on the elections.

Wish me luck, this run will take a while.

Thanks for all your help always

You should do what you decide feels best for you.

However, either a paper petition or an e-petition will do about the same thing.

The threshold for the e-petition is much higher (500 signatures) as the paper one is only 25. Obviously you can, and are often encouraged, to collect more signatures.

If you want to invite your sister from Cuba to come and visit, that is possible under the current system. We can assist you with this, if needed. The process is quite straight forward. Applications are available on-line (TRV = visitor visa).

Hi Donalda, thanks for your promptly answer.

Donalda, if Kennedy had a chance to support me with my e-petition. I did accepted his offer ( I wait for him 2 weeks with all the signatures before cancelling it ). This problem is too big for a paper petition and I honestly thing that a paper petition won’t really fix the problem. We need something that will allow all those interested to participate, to have a chance to sign it. We should bet for visitor visa mechanism that is transparent, with clear rules, that is fear to everybody and to anyone. We need a system that you will know before applying, what the answer is going to be. Today it is a secret and discriminatory system that you have to subjugate to, like if you don’t have any rights or decision upon it and that has to stop and change, for the benefit of us all.

I understand that the problem is too big for me. I was telling the same to Jenny’s officer the other day. Is like I have a big wall in front of me that somebody has imposed on my way. I don’t know how to climb that wall, I just know that I have to climb it or he/she will win the imposition. You see Donalda, sorry if you have any fait but is my believe that there is no God making our life miserable, we do this to each other for pure convenience or interest but is only us, we can’t blame anything else.  Think what rights to complaint or to have a fear government will have the citizen of any country if they find a problem on their way and they just decided to ignore it?. Why do you think I am a political refugee living in Canada today?. This is my country now, is the country of my kids. I think we should have a fear and transparent mechanism to allow our family and friends to visit us here and that is what this is all about. The petition not only criticize the mechanism on place today, it actually propose a solution for it. A solution that if we really want to fix the problem, we may consider it as an alternative. Jenny’s decline to support my petition was a big disappointment, as NDP has been since Tom rules the party. I am asking him as we speak about who he think will be interested on support my e-petition. I haven’t heard back yet but I will call his office this week. Kennedy can show interest to support it but that support can’t be contaminated with any type of political conveniences. Light only travels on straight ways or is just a shadow, trying to derail reason and justice. At this point I won’t consider his will as legitimate, even if it is my only alternative.

If anybody can convince me that what we have on place today is the more convenient mechanism for all of us, I will stop right there and assume that to see my family I have to travel to Cuba, where I don’t have any guarantees of anything.

Sorry to bother you with this.

Wish me luck, now I am stuck with it. It could had been a beautiful experience if I just met my sister for 2 weeks a year ago and nothing relevant had happened and Kennedy will never knew that I exist. But that wasn’t the case, now I have to climb a wall amount many other things that I have waiting for my time. I don’t have a choice.

Hello:

I don’t have any idea.

Sorry.

I still don’t know why you don’t want to go forward with the actual, paper, petition which we were working on earlier.

As you know, Kennedy was willing to support it.

Good Morning Donalda.

Support for my petition was denied from Jenny Kwan. I am asking Tom Mulcair if he will suggest any particular NDP MP to support my petition to our parliament before sending it to all MPs. It is a risky move because I don’t sympathise too much with the conservative party, but NPD so far haven’t been too interested on the subject ( with all respect for you ).

Donalda, I will like to ask you. If I start contacting immigrants, create a website and start collecting signature to bring to the attention of our parliament that our families have been discriminated by our immigration system,  is there any official mechanism under which I can bring my own motion to our parliament?. Any person to ask how it works?, any literature to read about it?

Thanks, I will wait a week before stopping by at your office.

2017-5-23

Sorry, I forgot to mentioned that I am following your advice. I am asking Jenny if she will support my petition. I will ask to any MP if that is what it takes. Next is Elizabeth May. 23, 17

Please keep this between us if you are allow, is just a matter of respect for them.

Thanks in advance.

You are right. I had your support. Let me know when I can vote for Donalda, you have my vote ( it will also depend on who NPD will select as leader of the party ). Until, I need to see my family and I can’t wait another day Donalda. I need to have this done and maybe avoid that our country crack in pieces in the process. We need to be equals, so I can explain to my kids that they live in a fear and honest country.

Hope you understand.

Good luck

Hi Donalda.

What I want to do with my petition won’t work if people can’t see it online. I will convert my petition to an e-petition and I will ask Kennedy to represent it. If he won’t I will try to find some other MP. I always vote green so maybe Elizabeth could be a good candidate or if you have any other suggestion I will definitely consider it.

Please try to understand that I have many friends in Toronto, for example, interested on signing my petition and been online will facilitate that process.

Donalda. I believe that I had found what my problem is. I was expecting to have an e-petition. It seems that paper petitions and e-petitions are not the same?. I have been looking for my petition to be in the e-petitions web site in order for me to collect signatures but my petition is different.?

Please let me know when you can and let me know how can i convert this current paper petition to an e-petition, if that is the case or possible.

ON the other hand, the e-petition web site explained that a Member or Parliament, in this case Kennedy, needs to agree to represent your petition. That was the other problem. Since the petition was never published ( because is the wrong type of petition I guess) I was under the assumption that Kennedy did not agreed to represent it. I was in fact looking for the best candidate to represent my petition.

I will appreciate if I can talk to you for 5 minutes. by emails this is going to take forever.

Please let me know. I am very interested on pull this off. Not anymore for myself, I am not sure if this petition will make any different any more to my situation and I am preparing myself to visit Cuba after 16 years, following the steps of or Primer Minister, but it may still help others if I can collect enough signatures.

thanks Donalda for all your help.

Kennedy doesn’t approve the petition.

Once the formatting and language used in the petition is approved by Ottawa (Clerk), then you collect signatures.

Once you have a minimum of 25 signatures, Kennedy will arrange to raise it in the House. He will read out your petition.

Just ensure that the information from the Clerk is addressed.

You are very close.

Hello:

Following, please see response from the review by Ottawa:

“In general, the petition is ok. Please ask petitioner to review it carefully: there are some typos to correct here and there (e.g. therefor).

The columns about phones or e-mails are unnecessary for the purpose of certification.

Please note that, in order to be certified, a petition must contain original signatures written directly on the document.  Some signatures and addresses must appear on the first sheet along with the full text of the petition, so please ensure there is space for three people to sign on the first page.  Also, note that the subject matter of the petition must be repeated on each subsequent page.  Furthermore, as with the signature, the address must be written directly on the document and not pasted, taped, photocopied or otherwise transferred to it.   A petition must also be free of any other matter appended to or written on the petition, whether in the form of additional documents, maps, pictures, logos, news articles, explanatory or supporting statements or requests for support.  A petition printed on the reverse of another document is not acceptable.  Finally, petitions must be submitted on paper of usual size (8.5” x 11” or 8.5” x 14”).

Signatures must be accompanied by a valid address (full postal address OR City and Province OR Province and Postal Code) when signatories have a fixed residence.”

Please consult our Practical Guide for Paper Petitions here: https://petitions.parl.gc.ca/en/Home/AboutContent?guide=PIPaperGuidMP.

I look forward to receiving a copy of your final version and then you can begin collecting signatures. At this time, I suspect it will likely, realistically, be into the new year that Kennedy will be able to present the petition on your behalf.
